Raymond Jr
“Guitarist”
Raymond Earl Jackson Jr., born in Memphis, Tennessee, is the son of Eva Johnson and the revered producer and songwriter, Raymond Earl Jackson Sr., associated with Stax and Volt Records.
His father, Raymond Earl Jackson Sr., displayed his prowess as a skilled guitarist and musician. He contributed as a co-writer and lead guitarist on Luther Ingram’s chart-topper “If Loving You Is Wrong (I Don’t Want to be Right)” and showcased his guitar skills on hits like “Respect Yourself” and “I’ll Take You There” by the Staple Singers, as well as “I May Not Be All You Want” by Carla Thomas.
Raymond Jr. cherished moments watching his father perform on guitar, both at home and during recording sessions at Stax and Volt Records. At the time, he didn’t realize the significance of the melodies his father played, contributing to various hit songs.
His father continued to deliver hits for Stax and Volt Records, collaborating with artists such as The Emotions, The Staple Singers, Isaac Hayes, and Johnnie Taylor, significantly impacting the R&B charts.
Despite the untimely loss of his father, Raymond Jr. held onto the memories and experiences shared, drawing inspiration to nurture his inherent talent for guitar playing and music production. He eventually founded “The Force Band Musical Group,” showcasing his skills as a lead guitarist, songwriter, and performer across venues in Memphis and its environs.
Now embarking on the next chapter, Raymond Earl Jackson Jr. joins forces with “W3 MUSIC GROUP,” marking a new phase for the legacy of “WE THREE…”
